Current Offerings

(To get an overview of all the classes I teach, just scroll past this section.)

I will be offering an online workshop on Self-Compassion for the Holidays on Saturday, December 7 at noon Eastern US (time zone converter here). For more info, check out the webpage. I will also be offering a 3-session workshop on Introduction to Fierce Self-Compassion starting on Tuesday, January 14 at noon Eastern US. (Time zone converter here.) Here is the webpage for more details.

I regularly volunteer to teach the Circles of Practice, a program through the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion. These are free, live, online 45-minute sessions that offer teachings and meditations 2-3 times a day, everyday. For more info, see this page

I also offer individual mentoring; you can read more about that here. If you have an organization interested in introductory classes or longer courses, you can learn about that here.

Overview of the classes I teach.

My offerings vary throughout the year; what follows is an overview of what I offer with links to more details. Note that only classes listed above in the Current Offerings are open for registration. If you have an organization or group that would be interested in a particular class, I'd be happy to set that up in addition to my regular offerings. Just send me a note.

Many of my courses are freely offered; a donation is welcome but not necessary. Sometimes courses have a fee, but there are always scholarships, so let me know if money is an issue.

8-Week Courses

Mindful Self-Compassion: This is an in-depth course with weekly sessions that last 2.5 to 3 hours, along with a 4-hour retreat between sessions 5 and 6. It emphasizes self-compassion, but also blends in mindfulness; here is a link to the course details.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction:  This is the classic mindfulness course developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn back in the Seventies, with 8 weekly sessions lasting about 2.5 hours and a 6-hour retreat between sessions 6 and 7.

6-Week Courses

Introduction to Mindfulness: This is for people that want to explore mindfulness, but don’t have the time to devote to the longer MBSR course. In these 90-minute sessions we cover a host of approaches to things like physical pain, difficult emotions and working with the busy mind. The practices can help you bring mindfulness into your life, even if it feels like there is no time. Here is more info.

Mindful Self-Compassion Short Course: This is a condensed version of the 8-week course, with sessions lasting about an hour. It is a great way to quickly learn a lot of practices to bring more self-compassion into your life. You can find more details here. This course can be optimized for different populations such as caregivers and educators.

Self-Compassion for Healthcare: This is a variation on the above course that is specifically designed for those dealing with the stresses inherent in our healthcare system. This is ideal for healthcare organizations that want to offer these resources to physicians and staff. Here is the course description.

Going Further with Mindfulness: This course is for people that have an ongoing mindfulness practice. We cover a specific topic each week in classes that last about an hour and 15 minutes. Topics can vary, and include things like concentration, curiosity, equanimity, loving-kindness, self-compassion, gratitude, appreciative joy and wisdom.

Introductory Sessions

I offer a broad range of 1- to 2-hour sessions that introduce people to mindfulness and/or self-compassion. Another popular subject is a review of various "in-the-moment" resourcing moves to help with stress. These sessions can be targeted to meet the needs of any particular audience—examples include caregivers, healthcare workers, people in recovery, and businesses. Please contact me if you want more information.
